Microsoft 近日推出了 Surface Pro 平板，以更強大的 Core i5 處理器配搭 Windows 8，令體驗與一般的 Windows 無異，但就加上更方便的流動性，不過其續航力只有數小時是一大問題。Microsoft 在討論區公開表示，未來可能會推出電池配件提升續航力。
目前 Surface Pro 平板因顧及重量及體積關係所以電池的大小沒能夠與其他 Notebook 相比，令其續航力受到影響。Microsoft 開發團隊在外國的 Reddit 討論區上有提供 AMA (Ask Me Anthing) 討論，可以說是有問必答，團隊在問答時就透露將會有 “accessory spine”，即是類似 Docking 的功能，給予 Surface Pro 連接更多周邊的可能性。
其中更提及 “That would require extending the design of the accessory spine to include some way to transfer higher current between the peripheral and the main battery. Which we did…”，即可能會有周邊產品可以令續航力更高，可能會是 Touch Cover 或 Smart Cover 配搭電池吧？對於將會考慮購入 Surface Pro 平板的用家會是一件好事，但此類配件會在什麼時候推出呢？
