自從智能電視興起，在電視前加上的鏡頭和收音咪，總會讓人聯想到到底在不使用的時候，是否仍然在錄音和錄影。有人發現在 Samsung 智能電視的條款中，其實已經解答了問題。
早前有人發現，在 Samsung SmartTV 的私隱條款之中，寫着「請注意，如果你說出包括個人或其他敏感資料的內容，資料會連同其他已記錄的數據一併傳送到第三方。」這樣一來其實是承認了如果在電視前面說什麼，其實都會被記錄，並傳送給「第三方」。最近 Samsung 方面就更改了內容，明確標示「第三方」就是負責語音辨識的 Nuance Communications, Inc.。這樣的行爲會在語音辨識啟用的情況下出現，而用家仍然可以啟用或關閉語音辨識功能。
私隱條款原文：「If you enable Voice Recognition, you can interact with your Smart TV using your voice. To provide you the Voice Recognition feature, some interactive voice commands may be transmitted (along with information about your device, including device identifiers) to a third-party service provider (currently, Nuance Communications, Inc.) that converts your interactive voice commands to text and to the extent necessary to provide the Voice Recognition features to you.」
條款解釋，語音控制和相關的字詞是用作分析和改善功能，只會在用家啟用收音咪，並對智能電視作特定搜尋要求的時候，才會收集語音控制。也就是說如果電視關上，或者沒有使用該功能的話，其實並不需要擔心。
