Elon Musk 近日被爆與 Google 創辦人之一 Sergey Brin 的妻子發展婚外情，令 Sergey Brin 離婚，Sergey Brin 更因此計劃將在 Elon Musk 公司的投資出售。隨後 Elon Musk 澄清傳言，稱與 Sergey Brin 是好友，更未曾與其妻子有染。
Tesla 創辦人 Elon Musk 與 Google 創辦人之一的 Sergey Brin 認識多年，Elon Musk 更常常到 Sergey Brin 的家作客，兩人是行內知名的好兄弟。在 2008 年金融海嘯時，Sergey Brin 更資助 Elon Musk 約 50 萬美元（約港幣 392 萬元）以為 Tesla 增產，可見兩人交情。
不過華爾街日報指兩人友情近日不再，引述知情人士透露， Elon Musk 在去年 12 月 與 Sergey Brin 妻子 Nicole Shanahan 在邁阿密的巴塞爾藝術展舉行期間發生婚外情。據悉 Sergey Brin 及 Nicole Shanahan 早因在疫情下照顧女兒而分歧，加上 Elon Musk 一事後，最終令兩人走向離婚。
Sergey Brin 在今年 1 月 以「無法化解的分歧」為由向 Nicole Shanahan 提出離婚，離婚文件中指出兩人是由去年 12 月 15 日分開，惟尚未達成離婚協議。Nicole Shanahan 要求 Sergey Brin 支付逾 10 億美元（約港幣 78.5 億元）贍養費，但 Sergey Brin 稱這金額遠超兩人婚前協議所提及的，更指控婚前協議是在 Nicole Shanahan 懷孕時被迫簽署。
有傳 Elon Musk 及 Sergey Brin 兩人關係決裂，更因此向 Sergey Brin 下跪道歉，即使 Sergey Brin 表示原諒，但仍未肯與 Elon Musk 交談。據說 Sergey Brin 已要求其財務顧問出售他在 Elon Musk 公司的投資，但事實與涉及金額則無從稽考。
面對指控，Elon Musk 周一（25 日）在 Twitter 上稱報道全是胡說八道，指他與 Sergey Brin 兩人是朋友，更於前一天一同出席派對。他澄清在 3 年內只見過 Nicole Shanahan 3 次，3 次都在公眾場合與多人一同見面，絕無浪漫元素。
