最近有報導指 Apple 最快會於 2024 年開始生產自家品牌電動汽車 Apple Car，改善汽車電池設計，從而提供更長的續航時間。而 Elon Musk 今日（12月23日）在 Twitter 透露，當年 Tesla Model 3 項目曾出現問題，因此向蘋果公司行政總裁 Tim Cook 提出 Apple 收購汽車公司 Tesla 要求，當時 Tesla 市值是現在的十分之一，但最後 Tim Cook 拒絕會面。
另外他亦表示，報導中提及到 Apple 可能會使用磷酸鐵作為車用電池的化學物料，其實 Tesla 位於上海的工廠已經有使用磷酸鐵物料，並且指出使用單電池設計可行性低，因為所產生的電壓較少，需要將多個電池組合在一起才可行，即與他公司所設計的電池組結構一樣。
