現時很多汽車品牌的資訊娛樂系統都支援 Apple CarPlay，不過 Tesla 就偏偏是其中一間不支持的車廠。為了令自己的 Model 3 能夠使用 CarPlay，開發者 Michal Gapinski 想到以 Raspberry Pi 微型電腦作為媒介，在 Tesla 的中控台運行 CarPlay。

Gapinski 的 Raspberry Pi 預載了定制的 Android 韌體，在連接 Model 3 的資訊娛樂系統連接後，就可以透過瀏覽器顯示和使用 Apple CarPlay 的完整功能，包括地圖和 Apple Music，駕駛者甚至可以利用軚環上的滾輪進行操控。Gapinski 的方案用途 Raspberry Pi 的 LTE Modem 和 Wi-Fi 熱點功能，不過他暫時對 Wi-Fi 連線還未滿意，期望在改善後會令串流效果更加暢順。
Gapinski 未有透露太多細節，但表示現時項目還在初期階段，一旦準備就緒，他打算將方案向公眾公開。
