Google 日前宣布 Google Play 電影將在 6 月 15 日在各品牌的 Smart TV上停止服務，以及停止部分手機等平台的服務。
Google Play 電影服務將會於6月15日在各品牌的 Smart TV 下架 ，包括 Roku 機頂盒、LG、Samsung 與 Vizio 的 Smart TV 平台上的 Google Play 電影服務都會下架，並轉用 YouTube 及 Google TV 服務，用戶能繼續觀賞過去已經購買的影片，亦可在同一位置購買更多影片。Google 目前未有說明其他品牌 Smart TV 上的安排。
從 7 月15日在各平台如想要以 Google服務繼續觀看影片，iPhone、Android 手機、平板用家可以使用 Google TV 應用程式或Google Play 電影、 YouTube 應用程式，而 Samsung、LG、Vizio Smart TV、Roku 等TV及機頂盒等設備用家可以轉用 YouTube 應用。

Google 的 Play 積分屆時仍然可以在 YouTube 應用程式中使用，媒體庫的內容也可以通過 YouTube 觀看。
