Apple Store 一向禁止一些被視為違反當地法律的 App 在該平台推出，不過最近他們就拒絕一款名為「HKmap Live」的 App 上架。該應用程式主要用途是標示示威活動與警方的所在位置。

根據 HKmap Live 開發者在 Twitter 上發表的帖文，Apple 在本週二向他們發信指「該 App 所含的內容，促進或鼓勵一些不合法活動，具體來說，該 App 允許用戶規避執法」。
This is getting way more feedback than I expected. To make it clear, I still believe this is more a bureaucratic f up than censorship.
Everything can be used for illegal purpose on the wrong hand. Our App is for info, and we do not encourage illegal activity.

而開發者則表示不同意 Apple 的說法，指 Apple 假設我們的用戶都是犯法者，然後逃避執法，明顯未能反映實際情況；又指所有東西都可以被不合法利用，該 App 只屬提供資訊，他們並沒有鼓勵用戶進行不法活動。
然而 Apple Store 封殺「HKmap Live」App 後，手機用戶仍可透過 HKmap Live 網頁版，以掌握相關資訊。
