早前， Apple 推出為 iPhone XS 、 XS Max 及 XR 而設計的充電保護殼，不過官方表示，這個保護殼並不兼容 2017 年推出的 iPhone X 手機。而 iMore 總編輯 Rene Ritchie 卻不相信官方說法，嘗試在為他的 iPhone X 套上新充電保護殼，結果發現新保護殼亦能夠為 iPhone X 充電。
事實上， Ritchie 亦曾一度於 Twitter 上表示， iPhone XS 充電保護殼無法為他的 iPhone X 充電。不過他其後發現，只要更新到 iOS 12.1.3 後，即使 iPhone X 套上充電保護殼後仍舊彈出不相容警告，但其後卻能正常充電。

不過，因為 iPhone XS及 iPhone X 的喇叭採用不同設計，所以用家將 iPhone XS 充電保護殼套在 iPhone X 時，喇叭及收音咪的開孔位置亦不一致。此外，iPhone X 的相機部件亦較細小，所以用家會在保護殼上看到細小的夾縫。
外國科技媒體 The Verge 亦有實試， iPhone XS Max 版本的充電保護殼亦能為更新後的 iPhone X ，不過尺寸則十分不合適。
