據《路透社》於本月 19 日的報道指， Google 已終止與華為部分業務往來，意味著未來推出的華為手機將可能無法更新 Android 系統，甚至無法使用 Gmail 及 Google Maps 等 Google 官方應用程式。不過 Google 在公告中指出，現時的華為裝置仍可以使用 Google Play 及其他 Google 服務。
Google 在公告中表示，Google 會跟從（美國政府的）決定，以及留意所帶來的影響。所有現存華為手機上的 Google Play 及 Google Play Protect 手機資訊安全服務將繼續能正常運作。
以下括號內為公告原文：
「We are complying with the order and reviewing the implications. For users of our services, Google Play and the security protections from Google Play Protect will continue to function on existing Huawei devices.」
Google 公告上的文言，未有說明將來會否為現有用戶提供 Android 系統、Google Play 服務之更新。
根據 Google 的決定，未來華為全新推出的手機將無法使用 Google Play 有關服務，也無法取得 Google 為 Android 系統提供的相關支援，華為只能採用開源協議版本的 Android 系統。
華為表示他們早已為美國科技公司封殺他們做好準備，並早已自行開發一套作業系統以作備用，因此他們有信心能夠應對有關威脅。
